Wind Energy Center
The Maverick Wind Energy Center is an opportunity to boost the local
economy of Garfield, Major and Kingfisher Counties and create jobs, all
while generating clean, American made energy. This project will provide
enough sustainable energy to power 85,000 American homes and will serve
American Electric Power (AEP) customers.
This 288 MW wind project is located on private land southwest of Enid.

At peak construction, the Maverick Wind Energy Center is expected to
support 150 construction jobs. After construction, the project will
employ about 9 additional permanent operations and maintenance (O&M)
staff.
